Anyone know when these tires will be released for the MDX?? I searched their website and couldnt find any info. These seem to be very good all-weather tires although maybe pricier than other tires. Any info appreciated.

call up a local tire store that carries goodyear assurance in any size. they might have better idea of whats coming and when.

I looked everywhere and wasn't able to find any comparison data between this new tire and the older Fortera HL SilentArmor. I'll be buying new tires within next year and want to compare objective data between the two tires.

Anyone have any ideas?

The Fortera Silent Armor tires are awesome. The only area that the Tripletred should be better would be snow/ice and that would be minimal.

I'm calling my local Goodyear store to see when they might come out for the MDX. I think they run around 200 dollars each tire!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the RETAIL price. Goodyear/other tire companies never sell their tires for retail. The Fortera has a "retail" around the same amount and I paid $137 each when they were on sale.

We expect the tires to go into production in late February or early March.

Has anyone installed a set of these yet? How much did they cost and what do you think of them?

Screw the tripletreds...go for the SilentArmor!! SilentArmor is tougher and probably quieter due to extra insulation. Acura MDX is not a sports car...so, tripletred will likely not reach it's potential.

Avoiding puncture is the main thing IMHO for any driver, esp. a SUV driver...probably more useful than the "enhanced" handling of a tripletred tread.

I recently got a new set of Fortera Silent Armors. When I checked, the Triple Tread were not available in a size for the MDX (that is probably the reason for no reviews from MDX owners). I did not check out alternative sizes. I know they have one to fit the Pilot but that involves 16" wheels I believe. I will say I am happy with the Silent Armors.

I think the point about the tripletreds were improved rain and esp snow grip. I was looking into them because of where i live but since they werent out yet i decided on some Nokian winter tires. Tripletreds are not meant for speed. Plus i like to drive my MDX NICE AND SLOOOOOOW :2:

Now goodyear provides a direct comparison chart for several types of tires, including these two. Click here.

you probably do not realize how critical is every ounce of traction in snow and ice. So the tripletreds have their well deserved place - irrespective of the type of car and driving style.

Now you can certainly argue that the silentarmour might be a little quieter than the tripletred and since the mdx has exceptional snow traction abilities you can compromise there if a comfortable/quiet ride is your top priority.

I was looking at Goodyear's Fortera TripleTred web site this evening. I'm amazed that a non-winter tire with 60k mile warranty managed to get the snowflake (severe winter service) rating. AFAIK, no tire other than a dedicated winter or off-road tire has ever gotten the snowflake rating.

Tough choice between these and the Silent Armors. Do I go for slightly increased tread life and quietness, or for increased snow traction? Too bad they couldn't have gotten all three in one tire.

depends on how much snow you get in your area, and your comfort/skill level while driving in that snow.
