Does anyone have an accurate percentage of color made for the X? I was told by the dealer that 40% of all X are silver metallic, while 3% are aspen white. Is it true? Thoughts?

By the look of things around these parts I'd say that 90% are Sage Brush Pearl!

I do know that silver- and silver shades, or whatever color another car manufacturer calls it's silver color- is THE most popular color in the U.S. and has been for many years. Reasons: hides dirt and scratches quite well. The silver color also doesn't hold heat the way other colors do. I don't own a silver vehicle.

A poll of selected colors for the 2003 model year indicates a preference for Silver, Sagebrush, and Black. White would make up nearly 10 % in that model year. While Silver is obviously still a popular color, I question if that is 40 % of the vehicles being put out by the factory?

I think the dealer may have been referring to a specific monthly distribution report which incudes monthly deliveries to dealers. I would be serously surprised if those percentages were over an entire year of manufacturing
