This is what has fixed my wind noise problem big time!
Sorry for the bad pictures I will try post some good ones taken in daylight!

If you look closely at the pictures or at the location in question(red circle and arrow) in your mdx you will find that the weatherstriping leaves a little gap or cavity at that point. I suspected that is the source of all the wind noise, and it was!

Now this is just my "prototype" fix, I have to think about an "elegant" and permanent solution but the source has been found and you can let your creative mind take it from here. Feel free to throw in your suggestions.

I squeezed a small amount of self adhesive rubber sealing tape I found in the weatherstriping section of the local hardware store (not the foam type, it will get wet and soaky and squish with the first contact with water). and wow what a difference it made! At first I thought it might a fluke but I did the same thing to my accord and amazing difference in wind noise there too.

another view (turn up the brightness to view the piece of tape on the inside)

this is on the accord...

YMMV. Your source of wind noise could be different or a combination of sources. If it works for you let me know!

I have a problem posted at

Is this the problem you had?

Did your solution solve the problem? Do you come up with the "elegant permanent fix"?

No mine was not the kind of noise you are experiencing. No vibration or whistle. It was just regular wind noise.

I also haven't tried out the other windshield noise solution but I think thats going to the next thing as I can now hear the 'windshield' noise. I haven't ventured in the window glass/window seal but here's something about the door seal you could try to see if that is the problem or not.

Your situation does seem like the wind is leaking into the cabin from somewhere and my guess is when you open the window it finds the 'easy' path in so you dont hear the problem sound.

What I found out is that the weatherstriping around the door gets squished over time and doesnt make the seal as it used to before, and since you mentioned that your situation deteriorated over time I think you should check that first.

Here's one way you can check for troublespots in the weatherstriping -
Open the door in a well lit area and closly examine the weatherstriping where it meets the frame when the door is closed. If you see any kind of streaks of dust or signs that means wind is blowing past it. It should ideally stop before that point. Wipe it clean and after a few days check again. It helps more if you live in an area where its dusty or in a winter state where they throw salt on the roads. You will easily see the dust and salt on the weatherseal.

Another trouble area with the weatherstriping is that there are small plastic pins that hold the weatherstriping to the door. If they are not seated properly it could cause wind noise too. EXamine it for this too.

Depending on what you find you can either replace the weatherstriping or get one of those self adhesive weatherstriping tapes from Home Depot or somewhere and apply it wherever you see signs of wind leakage and see if it makes a difference or not. I have done this and it has helped.

Hope this helps.

What type/brand of self adhesive rubber sealing you used? Is it the silicon we use around windows and doors type or something more elegant.

Do you have a picture?
