i am a new owner of a 2005 mdx. last week while driving above 40mph with the right rear window open i heard a loud thumping sound. as i accelerated above 40mph it became more severe. by cracking open the front right window it seemed to become less severe.
is this normal with the mdx?
thank you for your comments. |

| Are you talking about a continuous low pitched noise or a true thumping sound? If it's less pronounced when you open the front window, it could just be turbulence +/- some object being buffeted by the wind inside the X. |

You've discovered the *helicopter simulator* feature on your MDX. It comes standard on every model.;)

| thank you for your reply. yes it goes away when you open the front window. i as well as my friends were surprised at the intensity of the thumping. so i guess i can't open only the back windows for fresh air. i must open the back windows in combination with opening the front. although i have heard of turbulence causing noise i am amazed at the volume of the thumping. |

Congrats and welcome, just be glad that your dealer didn't charge you extra for this "feature". ;) |
