And a new version of iTunes that now lets you download video like TV shows. I think this is going to be very good for Apple. This may finally make me break down and buy an mp3 player.
...not to watch episodes of Desperate Houswives though. I'll transfer porn or soemthing really interesting to it. Think of it! Porn on the go. Yes. This new iPod will sell very well. |

| They seem most excited about the agreement with ABC to offer programs like Desperate Housewives the day after they air. They're only $1.99 a pop, but couldn't a person transfer their own file from a DVR ? Or is there some proprietary format or sizing that would make it hard ? |

You should get a product shot of the 5G. You've got the 4G posted. The screen on the 5G is bigger.
Actually that's a pic of a 3rd Gen one. The 4 G has a click wheel. And you are right, the new screen is bigger. I don't understand why they didn't switch to landscape mode and make it bigger though. hmmm.
Nice toy, and Supertech is right. Pron to go will help make this thing sing. I'm not sure they'll have pron on the iTms shop though. |

Now that's funny. I was thinking more like 30 minute shows. . . Dave Chapelle, Carlos Mencia |

I'm quite sure they will. And then they'll want you to go out and buy that one.
My mini ipod is basically obsolete. |

How so? Does it not still do everthing it did when you bought it? Apple's music format hasn't changed. You can still purchase, load and play music from iTunes or off of CDs. Sometimes we (including me) get so caught up in wanting the latest and greatest that we forget what we have still works.
Not meaning to pick on you; just something I have been thinking about lately (as I work to set up my new computer). :D
Now my first digital camera, which I purchased 5 years ago, and for which I can no longer obtain batteries, is obsolete!

That'd be it! And thanks, Sinecure, you're right -- that was a 3G. |

First I would like to say I am new to all Apple products, in fact I just started to use itunes
My question is, does Apple have any sort of model names for these ipods or do they just got by generations? I looked for "5th generation ipod" on ebay and found some listings where they said it is 4 months old:confused: What am I missing?
Also from reading the Apple site, am I right thinking that the way you charge an ipod is from the USB cable to your PC unless you buy accessories?
If there a "apple for dummies" place I can go and learn more :3:
Thanks for any replies. |

I think the PSP is a better buy.
Then, with the advent of the 2 GB memory stick, it can certainly handle movies. Albeit, not as many.
Then, you don't have any of the I-tune compatibility issues. |

Yes, the iPod just goes by generation. They are all called the iPod (normal, mini, photo, nano, video). They don't sell the mini anymore and I believe the normal and photo are being replaced by the video.
Yes, you can buy a outlet cable to charge your iPod without a computer (I bought mine from eBay for around $8-10).
I have 3 iPods (2g 20gig, 4gig mini, 4g 40gig), so you can ask me any questions you have. |

If you mean the PC's OS, there's software available that will make it run with systems previous to Windows 2000. |

I found this site to be very useful when I first got my iPods and had questions. |
