Hi MDX'ers,
I have 05 MDX & have been hearing Cell Phone interference thru the speakers while hearing Radio , CD or DVD since the day i bought.
It comes at random & it is loud & clear.
The noise is very similar to the one you hear on your computer speakers when a cell phone next to it.
It is like there is a loose wire somewhere & is acting like a antenna & picking up this signal from outside.
I hear this noise even without making or receiving any calls.
I talk & showed it to the dealership & they told me that this is a normal characteristic of the audio system , all the MDX's has it & there is no solution to it.
it is very frustrating & annoying.
Does anyone of you guys have come across this problem .
if so , what did you guys do to fix it.

please please please help.

Hi Jatharp,
thankyou for the feedback.

Does this mean that you cannot take phone with you in your car.
why should we leave phones at home ?

The expensive Hi-tech used in this car should be able to filter all the interference .

I just dont understand why it is picking up signals.
it should not. there is something wrong .

please help

I have found out if my phone isn't near the radio it will pick up very little phone noise. i used to hang it right next to the radio volume control. now,if i keep it at least 3 feet away it will pick up very little noise.

Yep, if you keep the phone in the small rubberized pocket area directly under the radio you will get this interference with a GPRS phone. If you move it to the center console (or cup holders right in front of it), it should diminish or go away altogether.

Hi ,
Thanks for the feedback.

Does it have to do with the Phone Make / Model & the provider ?

Hi Guys,
forgot to add........

I am hearing this noise at particular spots on the road & also when the phone switches cell phone towers.
It seems that the cell phone is trying to connect to the tower making sure it is connected & then it depends upon how strong the signals are. Stronger the signal , longer & louder the noise.

I also got this when I was using Siemens on Cingular network. 2 months ago, I switched to T-Mobile and also changed to Moto V3 and didn't notice the noice. Don't know if it was caused by phone or carrier though.

I have a Motorola V551 through Cingular and my phone will cause interference in my MDX if it is close to the radio head unit in the dash. Moving it to the console area beyond the gear shift is enough to not make the noise.

I felt the noise was excessive when I first got the phone and insisted that it be exchanged for another one thru Cingular. The new one does the same thing.

I have friends that also have GPRS phones and their phones will also cause random interference.

If I have my phone on my belt and walk close to the entertainment center in the living room, it will make a buzz soemtimes. Again, if I just don't walk close to it, it doesn't make the noise.

I do not believe it is a problem with the MDX.

hope that helps
