Getting the X, touring with Nav at $37400 (tax, doc, local fees are additional). Is this a good deal ?
JimH
Around $ 1475 less than invoice. I think that is a fair deal for both the seller and you. I would only see if they would throw in some wheel locks, cargo cover, etc. type accessories for that price.

Thanks JimH. The $37400 also includes the destination charge. Another dealer knows about this deal and is enticing me with another $400 off this price, but I am not sure how serious the other dealer is. Atleast now I know this price is not a steal and can get better.

FYI - I was quoted this price in the bay area at Autowest Acura Steven's Creek per E mail:

The price of the 2005 MDX 188 model ( touring package and navigation ) is $ 36,874.00.

When you indicate "The price of the 2005 MDX 188 model ( touring package and navigation ) is $ 36,874.00" Is this the factory price and/or what the price the dealer obtains his vehicle for ? OR is this the price the dealer quote you. Also what is the number 188 stand for ?
The invoice price is @$38260 listed at msn and edmunds.

188 stands for the model trim level - in this case Touring with NAV.

Hi there,
That was the price the dealer quoted me. Obviously tax and DMV would be extra. I can forward you the dealer's e mail if you would like.

Thanks for your offer, but I am in NJ and got the X yesterday at $36780 (base price) + $570(destn) = $37350. I think if I had been firm I could have got either $200 off the price or could have gotten mats, cargo tray thrown in. Did give me wheel locks.

I think you can get a better deal than this, do not give in yet.

Good luck...new 2005's are getting hard to find, especially Touring/Nav models. Acura started giving a $2K incentive to the dealers on all '05 X's a couple months ago (in addition to the regular holdback) in order to clear the way for the '06's, but by the time I caught wind of it, all the new '05 Navi's were gone around here. I ended up buying my '05 as an Acura CPO vehicle with ~10K miles from a dealer about 100 miles away for a little under $34K. I'm still grousing about how inflexible Florida Acura dealers are on price on the Navi's, new or used, but the CPO warranty really helps. Besides, the pain from the sticker shock eases a little every time I drive my X. :roadtrip:
