| I am in the market for a paticular 06' MDX W/nav. in the Boston area. So far I have been quoted a price of $39,900 for the truck. There are not any 2005's in the color I want, so I can't get any of the incentives that they have to offer on the those. Does this price sound about right? Acocording to the research that I have done it is not much over invoice. I just wanted to get some opinions before I take the plunge. Thanks |

That's not bad. Invoice is about $39075 with Destination. You could probably get $1500 to $2000 below invoice for a 2005 if they could find a color you liked. |

I think it is all negotiable. The deal I have right now is on an '05, but I was told I would get the options at their cost: Tow package 997, side molding 354, gold emblem 240, gold inner grill 312, wheel locks 56, wood meter trim 149, cargo net 41, cargo liner 194, all installed.
I didn't see their books so I don't know if these are the actual costs, but that is what they told me. By the way, I decided against some of the above, and some others I will buy on hondaacuraworld.com and install myself. |

Everything's negotiable. Start here (Tim's) to determine the cheapest that accessories can be ordered. Add some for installation where necessary and you have a reasonable price to offer for fully installed accessories at delivery. Instructions are even available on the same site to determine the amount of work necessary to install so that you can estimate a cost. If the dealer won't budge, then you can always order them and install them yourself. If you have the dealer install the accessories, then they are covered for the full vehicle warranty period. This makes sense for something like the tranny coolers. If you install them yourself, they are only covered for a year. If you are condsidering an extended warranty, Hondacuraworld.com also has excellent prices on those. Good Luck! |

I do not know about costs where you are, but I know that at least two of those things are way above cost. I only paid $185 for the side moldings. They take very little to install. Also over cost for hitch. I assume hitch cost includes radiator and PS coolers. The regular retail price for that here is $1025. I imagine that everything else is overpriced as well.

The prices I was quoted above are in the chicago area and include installation. The tow package does include the radiator and PS coolers.
G, does the $1025 cost in yoiur area include install? I will install side molding, etc. but will have to leave the tow package to the pros. What should the labor charge be for install of tow package? |

Have you tried checking regionally through the internet? Given that you are in Boston, you are within a day's drive to a seemingly large number of dealerships that probably have the exact car you want. If there is good deal to be had on an '05, it may be well worth the $200 plane ticket or $500 transport cost needed to get the car to you.
I found mine by looking at autotrader.com and cars.com, plus checking the acura website for dealerships near my zipcode, and then searching their inventory and making email and phone contact.
Good luck!
