just saw an 05 toyota 4Runner with DRL's that are essentially the turn signals.

i think the cadillac CTS has these too.

they look pretty cool, and im sure serve their function as well.

anyone seen any aftermarket kits like this for the MDX?

A lot of expensive ones too...unless you must really make some good money.
Cadillac STS-$40k-60k
Chevrolet Corvette Z06-$70k
Cadillac XLR-$75k or almost $100k for V Series

They use the ambers as part of the turn signal. I think it's smart since it's bright enough to be seen and utilizes a light that's already there anyways. Or, other GM products use a separate DRL that is clear...such as the trucks and utilities. A Hummer H2 is a good example...those lights that you'd think are for fog lights are really the DRLs.

This is a result of pressure from certain public groups that were strongly against DRLs being fitted to cars even though they were already mandatory in Canada and they don't seem to mind that motorcycles have required the headlight(s) on at all times here for decades now. GM used to (and Honda still does) have the DRL as part of the high beam headlight...just with much lower voltage so it appears dim. But since a high beam is aimed higher, these people claimed that the light was "dazzling" even during the middle of the day and deemed them a menace to the road.

Q: Want DRL's on your MDX? Just go down to your local car audio shop and have them wire the fogs to turn on with the ignition. That's what I did. My fog light switch still controls the fogs and DRL's, so that I can turn the DRL's off manually if desired.:29:

Not odd at all. It cost about $70.00. I go to Island Sound here in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii. They are the best when it comes to installng car stereo, alarm systems, and anything to do with electronics for your car, truck, or SUV.
