I'm new to the forum....
A while back I heard this most forlorn moaning sound in my garage. About five minutes later, I heard it again. I was sure I had some poor half dead animal in my attic and even sent my son-in-law up to inspect. There was no animal and the "moan" remained a mystery.
Later, my husband and I were out looking at some real estate. We parked the car and got out to gaze at the landscape. That's when I heard it again! It was obviously coming from the car; but, it was difficult to tell the direction. The sound lasts for about 5 seconds.
I have a 2003 Acura TL-S. I've read other threads describing a moan while driving slow or while turning the wheels, but I only hear this "moan" when the car is parked and the engine is off (and I happen to be around to hear it).
Please shed some light on this "moaning mystery"! |

It's difficult to hold back a couple of witty replies, but I shall do my best...:D
You sure there are no trapped small animals? The X has been known to be rodent-friendly. |

The only moan or groan I've ever heard is when my wife says no.... :)
Actually I hear a moan from the ABS accumulator in my 95 civic but that is at start up when pressurising the system I rarely hear it in the MDX. But again it is at start up. |

| Any work done to the cooling system ? It could be air leaving the system as coolant seeps into the reservoir. But it sounds as though this is a more long-term issue. So perhaps some sort of fuel system depressurization ? |

| The poster said they have a TL-S, not an MDX. I suggest you try the forums at www.acura-tl.com |
