I orded the chrome side steps for my MDX and was wondering how hard they are to install. After looking at the instructions online it does not look too hard. Has anyone here ever installed them thereselves? Can it be done without a lift? Any advise would be apprieciated.
JimH
Easy to install. No lift is needed.
rogmandude
I have to agree..its a pretty easy installation..
DoHo
It's an easy DIY, just a lot of screws to turn.

Did you go with shiny or satin chrome? I'm in the market myself for the side steps, but can't decide between the shiny vs. satin - both have their appeal imo.

Post some pictures when you're done!

Just curious, how long did they take to install?
Warzau
90 mins or so, just like other said lots of bolts and nuts.
rogmandude
I think for me it took about an hour to an hour and a half at the most..

An easy install, just don't get them backwards like a member did years ago.

Time and effort is greatly reduced with an impact wrench.

Thanks for all the info, put the side steps on this afternoon:2: It was pretty easy to do. I actually used the box that they came in to hold the side step in place while putting in all the nuts and bolts. Just made it easier.

www.hondacuraworld.com

Similar or the same being sold on ebay.
Claim to be factory bars, but it's iffy. And shipping is high. All in all, you might save $20 for something of unknown origin until you see it.
With Tim you get great service, and true-blue parts at a great price. How can you miss?

Speaking of Ebay. I saw some for $200.00 shipped. I called to see if it was BS or not. And it is legit deal. They say it is stainless steel and is manufactured by the top dogs in nerf bars. I asked whom manufactured them and they cannot tell me due to there low price. lol

Got my side steps from Tim on Wednesday (great deal, fast shipment, flawless steps), and installed them today. 60 minutes to get those things on with nothing but a torque wrench and a 13mm wrench for holding the nuts. Really, really easy - anyone can do it.

I posted some pics of the final product - the side steps really dress up the X nicely, not to mention my 3 year old can now just step right in.....

I just received a set of chrome side steps from Tim. There was a gig sticker on the side of the box that said something like "No instructions included" Will I need any or is it pretty self emplanatory? I haven't opened the box yet. If necessary, can anyone email them to me? vr4 at cwia.com

mizzou80

mizzou80
CMD, I have my pic's! Sorry it took awhile! :) I love the side steps. They are not too bad to put on. You will need someone to hold them til you get a few bolts in. Just lots of tightning.

I just bought the same set of chrome side steps directly from the dealership. Shipped for same $20.00 to Ft. Lauderdale area from Ohio (FedEx ground, but I'm in no rush). Had it in stock and sending out same day.

Thanks for the post mizzou80; saved me ~ $50 from another deal for same item I was just about to order
mizzou80
Thats Great I am glad to have helped save you some money. We also bought the side molding from him and installed it our self. It too was very easy.
