For about the third time in as many weeks, I'm getting this message from the hotmail postmaster when I send mail to my mom:
This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE.
Delivery to the following recipients has been delayed.
Later I'll be getting one saying it can't be delivered. Anybody else have this problem ? I really want to ditch hotmail but so many people have this address. A lot of spam makes it into my inbox with hotmail. I don't think my gmail account has EVER had spam. |

This has been happening with hotmail and MSN mail recently, due to server overload. MSN has not upgraded their servers for a while now and they are finally taking some heat for it. Between slow mail and files not being deleted after you delete them until you click refresh, MSN has lost a lot of users and will continue to until they decide to show they care.

Hmmm. Thanks for the info. I searched a bit and saw that some people are having issues not only sending, but receiving mail too. But I've been getting mail FROM my mom, bill pay notifications, some list stuff and of course, spam.
Wait a second. I sent mail to my dad (not aol) around the same time and haven't gotten anything back. And I got the same thing back a couple of weeks ago from 2 friends who have aol mail.
Is there anything specific to aol ? |

nightguy,
Do what I did. Dump your Hotmail account and get Gmail. You can sign up by using your mobile phone number.:29: |

I have a gmail, just don't want to have to email everybody that I'm changing. |

nightguy,
You can export your Hotmail addresses to Gmail, then send everyone in your book an email telling them about your new Gmail account. Once I went to Gmail, I completely abandoned my Hotmail and never looked back. As anjan posted, "it is the best email service around, period." Good luck.:29: |

| I like gmail as well, for the most part, however I am in the same boat as 'nightguy'. Not only do I have my contacts in hotmail, which I know you can export, but I also have a LOT of emails in folders which you can not export, therefore I am stuck with hotmail for now. |

Can't you forward all of them to a single email address, though? |

I would have to forward every email in every folder one at a time, unless I am missing something, and that is near 1,000 emails:eek:
Until there is an easier way I will be staying with hotmail. |

Enhanced. Can't do exclusive since I don't have everybody's address. And they change a lot.
You'd think that something with the title "McDonald's or Burger King", "Haagen Dazs or Ben & Jerry's" or "Customized Letters From Santa" would be obvious enough to delete but it doesn't. And that's just what's in there today. Not a big deal. Everybody should be lucky enough to have problems so trivial. |
