I have a 2001 MDX with Ebony interior. Anyone having a problem with the black color of the plastic rubbing off over time?

For example, the plastic areas that are most frequently in contact with the drivers hand (area around the door handle, steering wheel air bag cover, etc...) are becoming lighter in color as if the color is wearing off. I would have expected the plastic to be a solid color but I see some posts stating that nicks in the plastic shows what appears to be white plastic underneath. :(

Anyone having this problem? I can post pictures.

Thanks.

It is a pretty common problem and not just for the MDX. Most vehicles have their interior parts painted with a vinyl coating over the plastic. (GM Vehicles especially have this problem) My recommendation would be to take it to a reputable vinyl and leather repair shop in your area. If you are unsure as to who you should call I would ask your Acura dealer who they recommend. My shop would probably charge you somewhere in the ballpark of 55.00-85.00 for the above mentioned repairs.
