My parents have a 2005 RL or TL, not sure.
In any case they have been having a ton of problems with the battery dieing.
The latest news is that they are apparently unlocking the trunk after the doors are locked on a regular basis. They have been told this sets up a cycle in the system checking for status which drains the battery and nothing can be done to "fix" this "feature".
Either the dealer is making something up here or Acura needs some new employees in the electronics design department. |

Even if that is true, it cannot use sufficient electrons to drain a battery in 12 hours. Have they changed the battery? If not they should insist on a new battery. A couple of complete drains will leave that lead acid battery in bad shape regardless of what is causing the drain.

One of the several recalls rght now for the 2005 RL address a potential problem of the battery going dead. I forgot whether it's the one the reprograms the OnStar module or replaces the XM HIP module.
I've also seen some strange behaivor from the cars if the window initialization isn't done after the battery dies (or something cuts power to the controller...such as replacing the door controller as partof another recall). |
