Hi all, I'm new to the forum.. I didn't notice that there was a MDX forum until now. Anyways.. my parents have an 02 MDX and I drive the new S40.. its been a few yrs since we got had the MDX and I've realized a few problems..

1) the seat rattling sound.. then i found out that this is a problem for every mdx owners.. so it can't really be solved
2) the steering is becoming light and not as responsive as before.. could this be an alignment problem?
3) I've once hit the bottom of the car because I didn't realize there was another road bump right after.. then the suspension started to make a clunk sound whenever i do sharp turns.. could this be some shock mount problems ?! Acura says it would cost about 150 Cdn just to take it out and have a look at it..

Welcome. There is a lot of good information here.

1) Never had a seat rattle on my 04 so no comments.

2) I do not know what you mean by "light" steering. To me light steering and responsive would be the same thing.

3) Sounds like you bottomed out very hard. Probable bad shocks to start with and if you bottomed out as you say then you could have broken something. What is Acura going to look at for $150 Canadian? Take your vehicle to another shop and see what they have to say. The dealer does not have the only mechanic in town.

sorry my bad.. haha i didn't edit / double check my post be4 i submit.. um.. i know its weird, but but then it kind of feels like the steering is becoming loose.. and when i turn it a little, the car doesn't respond to it.. at least not as good as before.. but this is probably just some wear and tear

This is surely a great forum with lots of information, lucky i found this
