Sorry if this has been posted before. Is 2007 the year when the MDX will get a new look?

Also, do we have any hints as to what's gonna change??

Thanks

there are spy shots on the web, but was covered up.

I am sure there will be SH-AWD, HID, bigger RES DVD player options and a lot more. Can't wait to see what it will have in there. :)

And probably a nice increase in sticker price.

I wonder if they'll give us a sneak peek at the Detroit or the NY Auto Show.

I have been looking for some spy shots but have been unsuccessful. Do you have any links?

Thy have done a great job not leaking anything yet. Something I read (I am not going to state any credibility on it) talked about the MDX being the first Honda SH-AWD Hybrid with the V-6 powering the front and 2 electrics powering rear, kinda like some of the early rumors of the HSC (NSX repalcement). I think I read it at www.vtec.net in a forum several months ago. Would be sweet.

Given Acura's track record of releasing new model info, we should know exactly what the redesign includes the day before it hits the dealerships.........

The fact that a redesign is scheduled for 2007 is good news for me ... since I'm looking to buy a used MDX next year ... likely an '03 or '04 ... so, that should assist in some additional depreciation ... yea yeah!

.....an additional year. Usually when a new REDESIGNED model comes out, the old model generally takes a pretty big depriciation hit, but that doesn't happen right away. It takes about 6 months to a year for it to take effect completely, and here's the reason:

When the redesigned MDX comes out in the fall of '06, it will inevitably sell for MSRP for the first several months. This will keep the current MDX's price fairly stable for sometime. However, anywhere from 6 months to a year, after the rabid "got to be the first one on the block to have it" types have gone ahead and forked over their money, and when the intelligent wise types start carefully shopping, the prices will start to stabilize as these people usually don't make "emotional" decisions and don't just fork over their hard earned dollars at the drop of a hat!! (see the new redesigned TL, TSX and RL for examples of this - I'm not using the current MDX as an example because that was a very UNIQUE situation, where it, being a 7-seater, virtually did not have much competition in it's segment at the time, resulting in demand outstripping supply, for a long time. In fact I bought mine in the 3rd model year and still paid MSRP, except for a few freebie accessories thrown in...first time in my life I've ever paid sticker price for anything). So, after the 1st year or so, once they have started "dealing" on the redesigned MDX, is when the current MDXs will take that BIG hit in resale!!

FYI, the new RL sold at MSRP for the first 2-3 months, and then it took a REAL BIG hit. Six months later, they were literally "giving it away" for 2 to 3K BELOW INVOICE!!! .....However, I don't see the new MDX meeting with this same fate, unless they are foolish enough to price it waaayy higher!! (a moderate price increase is to be expected, due to all the new feature content)

So going to pick up ,y new 2006 MDX today. Better to lease since possibility of resale value going down??

Or better to just pay cash and keep it 3-5 years and then resell if I want??

Sardarji, You will end up paying atleast 5% over MSRP if you wait for the 2007 model .

It'll never be more than MSRP with today's gas prices and slower SUV market.

That is very true....In fact, there is no guarantee that 2007 is the redesign year......Acura has their hands full with the new RDX....

The latest info we had came from a Honda employee (Jaybeedee) earlier this year:
