ABS Warning Light w/ Spare Tire Change - Click HERE for Original Thread

ZOINKS!
My wife picked up a nail in the tire of our MDX (86K miles). The spare was put on, and shortly after driving away, both the brake light and the ABS light came on.

It seems like more than a coincidence to me, but perhaps someone else has experienced something similar to this?

Thanks!

I had the same problem almost two weeks ago.
Problem went away after fullsize tire was installed.

Thanks for the info-I told my wife that it was probably related to the spare when it first happened, now I can calm her nerves with your experience.

DOn't calm the nerves too much- get the full size tire fixed and back on. When those lights come on, they indicate that the ABS has shut itself down because it doesn't like the size of the spare.

All the more reason Acura should offer a standard size spare as std. equipment. In the meantime, dump the donut and get a FSS from Tim. http://www.hondacuraworld.com/Merch...egory_Code=AMDX

Thanks for the replies. I live in the New Orleans suburbs, so it can be challenging getting tires replaced/fixed-everyone around here is picking up nails (My WRX has had 3 separate nails in tires, with 2 repaired and 1 replaced in the last 6 weeks). There is still a fair amount of debris lying around :(

As far as the FSS, the MDX is on its way out, so I don't anticipate that happening. BUT, whatever it gets replaced with, I'll look into a Full Size Spare.

Wait! I thought Accura does have a full size spare?
Or, is it that way for the older model? I have MDX 05.

A FSS is not std. equipment.
