I was wondering if any MDX owner have experience bubbling of the plastic/chrome emblem (VTEC label) on the valve cover in the engine bay? Is this common?
I've had this piece replaced under warranty once, and I've notice the same issue again when doing the 30K maintenance. I have a 2004 MDX.
Thanks! |

I think I've opened the hood of my MDX twice in the 4 years I've owned my '02 Touring/Nav. That's why I brought an ACURA after owning a FORD for the six years prior (FORD = Fixed Or Repaired Daily).
If my VTEC emblem is "bubbling" under the hood, I'm sure not to notice! |

Then who does open the hood? Who adds wiper fluid? Who periodically checks the serpentine belt? Who does a periodic lookover to make sure nothing has or is going wrong? Who hoses down the engine to keep it clean?
Not a very good idea to ignore what could be happening under the hood. You should at least once a month open the hood and just do a visual check.

Then who does open the hood?

The service department at the dealer where I purchased it. It goes in for an oil change/service every 3-4K miles. They do what they do and I pay what they charge. I now have an extended warranty to 100K and have no complaints about this arrangement.
Those, like you, who are comfortable "under the hood" and do have the time, I'm not mad at you. Just don't hate on those of us who just don't have the time or skills.
And then there's always AAA... :2: |
