Got a minor dent repaired and now my hood and fender are as rough as sand paper, due to overspray.
Should I have it buffed which may cause swirls on my black paint or should I use a clay bar?
Any insights or past experiences will be great appreciated. |

There should be no roughness or overspray in a properly done paint job. You should not be able to tell it was repainted. Take it back and make them fix it right. |

| I would think that they will buff it but I am trying to get away from swirls. Have you tried a clay bar? |

| Just an update. Purchased Mother's clay bar and used it tonight. It's like Magic. Now it's smooth like there is oil on the finish. I never thought that this stuff can actually remove oversprayed paint. Wow! |

Yeah, I was going to tell you to use the clay bar- really is astounding.
I was spraying two part epoxy using an HVLP sprayer on a project and got SIGNIFICANT overspray on my Q45... I thought I was dead meat... claybar cleaned it right up!
It is a standard part of my 'serious' detail:
wash
claybar
swirl remover
polish
zaino x6

| Clay bars are what body shops use to remove mild overspray. Except they have huge gobs of clay. The ones that are usually found like the Mothers clay bar is tiny in comparison. |
