Replacement Fog Lights - Click HERE for Original Thread

Just purchased thru the Internet a new Fog Light Bulb, I thought would be worth sharing with the forum members. I started as a Piaa from Japan nut, but the cost to high and Longevity was much to short, then went to Silverstars which are excellent for the money and give a little yellow color. The longevity was much better. Then went to Phillips Bluevision which happen to match the True HID 6000K that I have on my main headlights. The longevity was also excellent with the Phillips. Now trying an Aftermarket Bulb by a company called Luminics. They now make a 2500 JDM Yellow bulb. It appears to look just like the expensive Piaa's from Japan, but the cost is amazing $29.99 with shipping included. I couldn't refuse to try, and they appear excellent. I still have to see how there life length will be? And hoping they don't discolor the inner lenses like the Piaa's tended to do. It was almost like a rainbow color on the inner (reflector) cover to the bulb. So talk is cheap and here's some pic's to get your guys opinions. The company seems to be very professional, in the shipping time was quick and the customer service responds quick to questions and inquiries. They carry a hole line of bulbs for all different needs and preferences, check it out. The website is listed below:

They are sometimes bluish/purple, white, and yellow at certain angles. Pics below:

I like the looks of these bulbs. Nice contrast to the whites from the HID. Still happy with them after a few months? Any postives/negatives to report?

I'm very happy so far with the Luminics. They haven't discolored my fog light housing, and the bulbs haven't blown out yet even though I do alot of evening driving. The brightness is very impressive remind me of the Japan made Piaa's which had cost something like $90 for a pair. Luminics are much brighter than the Silverstars and much more of a yellowish color than the Philips Bluevision. Luminics seems to be the winner so far as price and function.

Paul, I don't have the link handy, but fogs can be adjusted for better light at night..down the road, not just the sides.
I think JeffK adjusted his, and followed the acceptable limits per the law for most states.
I have yet to try it myself. And we get some bad fog here at times. I like those bulbs.

Here's the link, I too was surprised that they are adjustable :-)

I always knew about that adjustment wheel, but had never needed to adjust. DaleB, I felt no need to adjust the fogs they light the sides and directly in front, then the HID's pick up the rest. I did have to adjust the Low beam HID's. I was annoyed that at the same time I adjust the low beams the high beams go together. Once I get my low beams perfect the high beams are looking for birds in the tree's, but not so bad because it really gets the attention of drivers in front of me when I need to FLASH TO PASS, I get a very quick reaction from the driver ahead of me. Really don't need the high beams anyway once you have the HID's. I had bought the Piaa that look like HID for my high beams, which cost me $120 for the pair because they were the ones from Japan and are not approved for road use in the USA. At your local auto part store they have piaa's but they are the legal ones for this country, the really bright Piaa's are from japan and have not been approved in this country.

For the few times I ever use my HB's I'll probably keep with the Sliverstars. But the fogs definitely look like a go.

One thing on the 'luminics' website:

They list 4 kinds of bulbs, but if you go look up your car, then one page has 5 bulb choices ...
One called Titanium White..interesting.

That would make a nice match for the 5K HID Bulbs. I have the 6K HID Bulbs and like the fogs to be blueish(slight purple) or yellow.

Paul,

Thanks for the find!

I currently have the expensive ($90/pair) 2500K PIAA HB bulbs in my fogs. All of the other "yellow" bulbs I've come across where not this yellow. It looks like you've found a much less expensive alternative.

BTW, my PIAA bulbs have been in my MDX since 2001.

Has anyone used the Luminics HyperWhite?
One of my PIAA XtremeWhite low beams just went.

I just put a pair of the Luminics JDM yellow bulbs in my X. The yellow light is very powerful; I was surprised at how strong the output is, and it makes for an interesting cutoff between the white low beams and the yellow from the fogs. Weather here has been perfect, so I haven't yet tested them in any rain or snow conditions. $29 and they were on my doorstep in 3 days!

The pictures don't really capture the true hue (and my camera is a piece of cr@p), but here's one from my 04 with the Hoen Titanium low beams.

Thanks for the recommendation Paul. Very nice product so far.
