What's the opinion on taking the MDX to a Honda dealer for repairs as opposed to going only to an Acura dealer? I have a Honda dealer much closer to me than an Acura dealer but I'd like to hear from others on their experiences at Honda dealers for repairs.
Thanks,

| If it's a warranty item, take it to the dealer. If it's a maintenance item you can take it to Honda. |

Warranty >>>Acura.
You pay >>>> Non dealer, best mechanic you can find!
Find an independent 'japanese specialist' and develop a relationship with them.
Any deaelrship you will just be a victim.
There is an argument to be made for going to a specific acura dealer and service advisor for all service if you are under warranty- if you need their 'good will' at some point, having a relationship may help. |

| I only have one CLOSE Acura dealer to me, and after a few "problems", you couldn't pay me enough to take it to them to abuse any more. Unfort,. warranty is only good at Acura, not even Honda. If it's a non-warranty issue, I agree - find a reputable mechanic outside of the dealer networks. |

For the occasional routine services I've had done I would only go to the Honda dealer. Big diff in price for what appears to be the same level of service.
I doubt any independent would be cheaper than Honda for routine services. But if I did not have a warranty, and a major problem, I would find the best independent specializing in Acura/Hondas. |
