I received my HID's yesterday, thanks. Given that the Vision bulbs website has no install guide, and one is not included in the box, what do you guys suggest I use?

Thanks

Hard sayin'. If it comes with a wiring harness, you might be able to use the xenondepot install instructions. Do a search on xenondepot and it should show up. Good luck with the install!

rockyroad has already done this installation. He organized the group buy. He states it's plug and play here. Might want to try PM-ing him.

Mine arrived today, and did include an install guide. It is sort of generic, but I think it gives enough instruction to get the job done. If all goes well with the install (this afternoon?), I'd be happy to send mine out to you if you're still in a jam. Or I can transcribe the step by step later on....

While I didn't fully complete the install since I think I got the wrong wiring harness, the process itself seems as simple as advertised. Here's a blow-by-blow - feel free to email or PM me with specific questions.

1. Disconnect the battery/power source.
2. Remove original socket and bulb from light housing (grab light socket and turn counter-clockwise about 1/4 turn - don't touch the light bulb itself).
3. Disconnect the wiring harness from the light socket (black, oval-shaped harness) and set the old bulb and socket aside. You can also disconnect the gray wiring harness that is fastened to the sheet metal so that the wires are easier to work with.
4. Connect the male end of the Visionbulbs ballast to the wiring harness disconnected in step 3 (this is what did not work correctly for me because the harness wasn't compatible)
5. Connect the red and black wires from the ballast to the red and black wires on the Xenon bulb/socket.
6. Install the Xenon light socket into the slot vacated by step 2, being careful not to touch the bulb. Turn 1/4 turn clockwise to lock the socket/bulb in place.

6a. At this point, I reconnected the battery and tested the lights. Assuming they work correctly, then you need to locate a spot and mount the ballasts.
6b. Repeat on the other side if all goes well.

The kit comes with a mounting bracket for the ballast, but I don't see an easy way to install the bracket without taking a bunch of stuff out of the engine compartment I bought some industrial strength double-sided mounting tape, and I plan to mount the ballasts with tape down below near where the fog light sockets are. There's more open space down there to work with.

Hope this helps.

Matt,

Thank you for the instructions. Sorry to hear you got the incorrect connector. I am going to install them now and will report back.

screbr,
Are you saying the wiring harness does not connect to the battery whatsoever? Is the power for the ballasts coming solely from the 9006/H11 socket?? Is there any relay in the harness provided by visionbulbs?

Correct - no direct wire to the battery. There is one input harness to the ballast that connects to the OEM headlight wire.

Hopefully you do not have any problems with that. There is quite a bit of draw when the ballasts first fire up. Is there at least an inline fuse inthe wire harness or is it straight wire from the 9006/H11 plug to the ballast??
