Hello Group,
Just a question. I never mind about the engine oil when its time to change. Except today i discover that the mdx oil cap is marked with
5W-30, but in the manual owner 2002, it said to use 5W-20. Even in the service manual book, it said 5w-30. There is a contradictory.
Have you ever asked what type of oil your mechanical man put in?

The filler cap and documentation on the 2004 calls for 5w-20.

| where do you live ? If you live where it gets cold (below freezing and such) then your mechanical man is correct, otherwise 5w30 all year round is just fine. |

I think if you "search" on this, you will find that the 5w-30 is the correct oil in the 2002. I have a 2002 and came across the same issue.
I use Mobil 1 5w30 year round in New England, change every 7500 miles ... buy it in 5 gall jug at Walmart. |
