Seriously considering the 06 Civic for my oldest daugther. Youngest daughter starts driving this spring and she will get the ever-so-reliable 94 Accord. The new Civic SI looks awesome, and you can get it with Navi. Great for a girl ready to go to college soon.
Preliminary reviews for the new model look promising. I'm always a bit hesitant to buy 1st year models of anything, but I need to do something soon. I can go used as well, however, this new Civic looks hot.

...I could park the vette and have this be my daily driver. To me, for what you get, this car has unbelievable value. |

.....This car is nothing short of simply stunning (I mean the entire '06 CIVIC line)!!!....it's the only car in the world in this category with it's level of SAFETY (unbelievably incredible for it's segment!!! :eek: )
It won the Insurance institute's (IIHS) highest award ever (TOP GOLD PICK - see link below)...I'm sure this aspect of the car is just as important to you, since you're buying it for your kid who's going to College.

What is UNIQUE only to Honda, and extremely impressive with Honda's new ACE (Advanced Compatiblity Engineering) body structure, is that it's designed to hold up even in collisions with higher vehicles such as SUVs!! ......remember, no matter how strong the frame of a car, if the higher vehicle rides OVER it, the issue of strength becomes moot!! ....the ACE structure has UPPER and LOWER frame components to address just this issue!!
To my eyes, styling is simply georgeous as well, but of course, this is subjective
....no matter how you look at it you simply can't go wrong with this new Civic, it's a WINNER every which way you look at it. No wonder it beat out even several other far more expensive cars to win Motor Trend's 2006 CAR OF THE YEAR!!
.....and whatever you do, make sure to get the NAVI!! ;) ...it's Honda's amazing latest platform (4th gen. ver. 6.11), and in some ways (map coverage, graphics etc.) it's even superior to the latest MDX and RL Nav systems!!
....and I understand your apprehension getting a 1st year model, but if you must, then you can minimize your risk by waiting a couple more months for a unit well into the production cycle. |
