| I have a 2" scratch in the fender of my MDX. It is scratched to a point where it is all the way through the clear coat and paint but not real deep. Any ideas on how to make it look better without going to a body shop? |

I think the fact that you had to ask this question also provides the answer. Repairing a scratch that is deep into the paint is NOT something for a novice to attempt. There are just too many mistakes that you can make that would make future repair even more expensive.
I would recommend that you go to three shops and get estimates of repair cost.

| You could certainly take the X to a paint touch up specialist(you could ask your dealer who they recommend.) It is hard to say without seeing the damage but it is likely that they will not be able to make the damage completely disappear but they should be able to hide it some and make it not nearly as noticeable. For whats its worth my shop would probably charge somewhere around 45.00 for this type of repair, but if you are looking for perfection take G's advice and go to a body shop. Hope that helps!! |
