| When I switch on the A/C it makes a higher pitched squeaky kind of sound. Could it be a slipping belt ? or bearing ? Did anybody have a similar experience ? What was done to fix it ? |

What have you done to try to identify from where the noise is coming?

the noise comes and goes when I switch the A/C on and off, and it is definitely coming from the engine area. It does seem to be coming from the right side of the engine where the belts and a/c comp is.
Other than this I have done nothing specific. |

The MDX is especially difficult to check the serpentine belt.
See if you can spray some belt dressing on the belt. If this quiets the noise then you have a belt problem. The problem is that it is so hard to get to this belt I cannot be sure that spraying it will quiet a bad belt.
You can try the old trick of using a long screw driver or wooden dowl and placing it on the compressor and see if the noise appears to come from there. Actually I have not even looked to see where the compressor is located so this may also not be feasible.
Probably your best bet is just to take to a mechanic you trust and see what he says.
