1. I am planning to purchase a Divx player and hook it up to the Aux input in my car (2005 MDX Tech (Canadian)).
Is nav-conv. only way to watch video in the nav screen?
do you guys know if it's illegal in Canada to have video playing in the driver's view?
2. I also am planning to put in two aftermarket subwoofers with an amplifier. Would stock headunit have sufficient enough power?
3. Do you guys know anywhere in vancouver, bc where i can get some AV work done well for my MDX?
thanks a bunch!! |

1. Currently, a navi converter is the only way to get video on your navi screen. I can only assume that in Canada (I live in the US) that it is illegal but a quick call to your local police dept. should yield your answer.
2. If the Canadian version is like the US version (Bose system) there should be a separate amplifier for the sub. However many people when upgrading the sub had also have had to upgrade the amplifier. Since you are planning to put in 2 subs you would definitely need to add an aftermarket amp. If you have the Bose system you would not need to change out the head unit just the sub amp. Do a quick search for subwoofers and you should get a lot of info.
3. Sorry, can't help you there. |

1 yup like X2Z said the navi converter is the only wait to get video to the front LCD display. Technically it is illegal in most states to have it viewable to a driver while the car is in motion ( which is common sense). When you are stopped and parked you can watch all you want. But again like X2Z said a call yo your local police can help clear it up...
2 I think most have said the stock amp for the sub isn't sufficiant for more than one sub, especially aftermarket since the stock one is crappy.
