Headlights were left on all night. When the MDX would not start with jumper cables, I replaced the battery. Vehicle still would not start, and received no power. I checked the fuses and found that the '120v battery fuse' had blown.
As I replaced the fuse, the horn sounded. I immediately stopped the fuse install. (It is installed with 2 screws.) I then disconnected the battery, and installed the fuse. When I reconnected the battery I connected the positive post first. However as soon as I touched the negative post the horn blasted again. It is a long continuous blast as if someone was leaning on the horn.
I assume this is a warning of some kind but cannot find out what this signifies. Obviously somethings wrong!
Any ideas on what's going on? |

We figured it out!
It's the vehicle tamper alarm.
Reconnected the battery. When the horn sounded stuck the key in the door and viola, it stopped!
The wifes MDX purrs like a kitten once again! |

| That's good, it would be worthwhile to try and find out why that fuse blew in the first place. |

How long did you charge the MDX battery with the jumper cables before trying to start it? If you do it right, you shouldn't need the jumper cables when you actually start the MDX. A single full draw on a 1 year old battery usually won't kill it permanently. Perhaps you just didn't let it charge long enough before attempting to start it. |
