Hello,
I am just about to purchase a 2006 MDX. All the big and important questions have been answered. However, there are a few smaller questions on accessories that I still need help with, like iPod intergration via the new factory iPod Music Link. Here are my questions on this matter (that don't seem to be previously addressed in this forum):
1. Who is the sub-manufacturer for this item?
2. Does it really work like it is advertised to? I have read reports attesting to both poor and great performance.
3. What exact functions can actually be accomplished via the car’s audio system? Level of song navigation? Voice control?
4. Is there a song navigation delay in using this accessory? Many of the other manufacturer iPod interfaces suffer from no cache for this purpose, meaning that there is an annoying delay when trying to find a particular song (as opposed to the immediate response found on an actual iPod). Pioneer’s new AVIC-N3 multimedia navigation system is supposed to have upgraded it’s cache to address this problem.
5. Is there an aftermarket iPod interface that is still superior to what Acura is offering?
Any comments from those who have actually observed the iPod Music Link option in action would be most appreciated.
