My 2006 MDX (Touring w/ Navi) is making a weird "brake-like" noise between 25 to 30 mph. It sounds like the noise when the parking brake is on, or like a bus trying to come to a stop. Sort of like a howl or higher-pitched harmonic/vibration noise. It sounds like it's coming from the front. It's intermittant. When it does occur, it might last for a fraction of a secone up to two or three seconds. It does this when I'm pressing the brakes and when I'm not, and when I'm accelerating, coasting or slowing down. I haven't noticed this noise at any other speeds. The car seems to drive fine (no pulling, or slowing) when this sound occurs. I first noticed this at about 500 miles. It now has about 1,400 miles.
I took it to the dealer twice, so far. One technician thought it sounded like the brakes. Another thought it was from glazed pads. The tech checked the brakes and pads and said they looked fine (no glazing, rotors ok, etc.). The tech also said the bearings, drivetrain, and suspension all checked out ok. But the noise is still there.
Does anyone else have this noise and/or know what the problem is? |
