I have about 4500 miles on my MDX. The trip computer has not been reset yet. These days I mostly drive city(70%) and the mpg on the trip computer display shows 18, but in November, I used to do mostly highway(70%) , and mpg showed 18.5. In december now, I noticed that the mpg on the display started dropping down slowly. For the past One month, it looks like its stuck at 18 .

I have not reset the actual trip meter. Do I have to reset that trip meter ? It currently shows 4500 - the same as the odometer.

After I fill up, the total miles to empty mostly is around 319 .

On my rather older X there is a "reset on refill" option on the trip computer that you can turn on or off. I'm guessing that yours is set to 'off' (or 'no', I forget the wording).

The reason your stuck on 18 mpg is that its an average based on 4500 miles - hard to change it at this point (same reason it's hard to raise your bowling average at the end of the season... :)

The trip meters (two plus computer display) are there for your convenience and use. You may or may not reset them depending upon what YOU want to do.
