| I couldn't find what thread it was mentioned on, but someone wanted to know if one could Fastforward the song when playing the cd. I think the dealer either did not know or said no. Well, you can advance the track. Just hold the button in. This is typical of most cd players where a tap moves it to the next track and holding it down moves it forward in the SAME track. Sorry if my memory was incorrect about the issue, but heh- what's another thread:D |

I don't think you can fast forward or rewind cd's on the MDX radio. I noticed that when I first got it. I was so used to doing that when my kids and I were trying to figure out a word on a song. Now we can't do that. It kinda stinks. But what I found was kinda nice with the tape deck was you can control on the steering wheel (fast forward to the next song). I don't have many tapes left though we swithced over to cd's.
I just went out to try it in my mdx with the cd's it will change to a different cd. You can't do it. :(

| You have to use the buttons to the right on the head unit. The steering wheel controls won't do it. If it doesn't work you head unit is broken. |

Would this be the Bose, or base stereo that is being discussed?
(the base unit will FFD or RWD by holding the + or - button) |

Hello Gang. . .with the BOSE system you can definitely FAST FORWARD or REWIND a CD track. You simply hold down the "+" or "-" buttons to the left of the head unit.
Unfortunately, you cannot FAST FORWARD from the steering wheel. You can only change tracks via the steering wheel.
NOW what am dissappointed about it the fact that I cannot figure out how to display the CD "Track Time" without holding down the FAST FORWARD or REWIND buttons. (which unfortunately changes the track position -- Sort of sounds like an OLD PHYSICS problem about not being able to simultaneously know both the location and direction of certain subatomic particles without changing its properties) |

Sorry I mistyped earlier.
The "+" and "-" buttons are to the RIGHT of the HEAD unit. |

walthall, I didn't think about the = or - buttons. Now my kids and I can do what we used to when we couldn't figure out works to a song. All I thought about was the fastforward button for the tape deck. Good deal.

No question about it, the Bose system that Acura selected is pretty timid in terms of sound quality and user functions. Even the cheapest portable CD players give you track info. Somebody really missed the boat with the sound system in general and functionality in particular. |

To Board and Lmeans,
Sorry I wasn't more specific about which buttons to push to FF the cd's
As far as quality of sound of Bose, I admit that I've heard better, but IMHO, it is better than average. I understand this is discussed alot on other thread(s)
Take care. |

| Thanks for enlightening me on the operation of the CD player. I wondered why there was no fastforward. Now I am happier. I guess I should have read the direction more carefully. |
