We can't really help you with that. You have to decide which is more important to you......:) .

These two vehicle cannot be any more different. Of course the 3 series drives better, it's smaller and based on the sedan. The MDX is better if you want space. Tough to compare, it just depends on your wants and needs. I personally think the BMWs are overpriced for what you get. Acura products, are good value for the money, save the new RL. Acura is now trying to go upscale with their prices to compete with Lexus, Mercedes and BMW, however the present MDX is still a good value for the money. I bet Acura will move the next MDX upscale, for a lot more money, and lose the price advantage, however the RDX will take it's place in the price segment.

As noted above, you are comparing two completely different vehicles. Most of all, the MDX is far larger than the BMW. If you need to transport people in the back seat, it will be tight in the BMW. The BMW will handle far better, brake far better and provide the performance of a sports sedan. We have the MDX to haul our twin toddlers, 80 lb. labrador retriever and gear. I drive a 2006 3.2 6MT A4 Avant. I mostly drive alone but being a small wagon I can put the kids in back and dog in the way back if I have to.

yeah they very different vehicles, a wagon and an suv. I just like the way they both look, I know that is a wrong way to choose a car. I decided on the MDX (2006 touring with navi, silver, black interior) and get it next month. I chose the the mdx because it is safer and more reliable but mainly because of the third row.

Nothing wrong with that. That's the main reason most people buy what they do. I think you made the right choice. I came from a Saab 9-5 Aero wagon -- similar in size and characteristics to the BMW. The MDX is more comfortable on long trips. You can see out better, it has a lot more cargo room and it has more of a "cool" factor rather than a "snobbish" one. I do miss the tight handling and the better gas mileage of the Saab, but I'm not going to miss the service department!

Right now I have a 2001 9-5 saab wagon (soon to be MDX) i liked the cargo room of it but am ready for the third row seat that the mdx gives me. I have had a alot of problems with my wagon. For example, the heat is not working right now.

At least you are Hawaii with no heat, it would be a lot worse if you were in the NE :) .

I also had a 01. Lots of problems as well. Most were under warranty, but a couple, like a terrible vibration over 50, they couldn't find a fix. After 15 times in service last year I gave up. Some of my friends with BMWs said expect the same. I love the way european cars look but I wanted a car to drive, not to repair. My only regret on the MDX is not buying one sooner!

I don't live in Hawaii. I just did not think it was necessary to put my real location which is New England. (CT):D

Some midsize wagons still offer a rear-facing third-row seat. I cannot remember if the A6 still offers one. I think the V70 does, and the MB E-Class definitely does.
