I activated the system the other day, it came with 15-30min talk time. I went to use it the other day and it sayed no units left. I called they sayed that is strange. They sold me 100 minutes for 17$ they downloaded the minutes. Three days later I went to try it and it sayed no units left. I called OnStar and they said you have bad hardware that is on recall it consumes minutes by itseld. you need to get it replaced at Acura.

Anyone had any problems?

I just got a letter from Acura regarding just this....(Motor Vehicle Product Update). This is NOT a recall. A recall is when you life is in danger. Nothing life threating about OnStar taking your money because of a faulty part from Acura.....I've not addressed this with my dealer yet....

Yep, Replacement of some of the OnStar units is a known campaign. You show up for an oil change and you get a new OnStar.

Is onstar sattelite based. Is the phone unit sattelite based? When we were up in Main for a weekend we had no cell reception anywhere, though we rarely go up there, I am interested as to whether onstar works anywhere in the USA. P.S, we don't have any onstar equipped vehicles yet.
