Little late to ask any good....

But yeah, its a nice car. I am assuming you got it without touring and navigation, or that you are a really good negotiator.

Congrats on the purchase :)

As he states, he got the base model which does not include trg or nav.

It's not bad. Invoice is $34,075 so you probably could have squeezed a little more but not much.

I didnt pick up the vehicle yet and I am shopping around for a better price w/ the 07 change it would seem that deals could be made.

I went to a different dealer yesterday and he quoted me invoice within 1 minute of sitting down , for a touring w/o navi, maybe if I wait below invoice would be available ?

I really hate burlwood and think the brushed aluminum is alot nicer in the touring models along w/ the zebra fake wood , ive decided against the base and am now shooting for touring looking to spend invoice minus the destination , or less sent out about 20 emails to dealers in the ny area 2day and will prolly find out tomorrow what is going on .

still am waiting for my down payment anyway (insurance check from previously totalled car ) should arrive tues.

I called the sales guy from the first one and told him I changed my mind and would like a quote on a touring he said just come down with my cash and the vehicle price will not be a problem ?
very strange ,he also mentioned he treated me like a relative and wasnt making any money ...OK I guess dealers lay out tens of thousands of dollars to sell merchandise at a loss or get a fraction of a percent return on their investment . the profit margins for the service and accessory dept must be thousands of percent . sounds like the cell phone & crack buisness.

Anyway looking for the same color combo , would love navi Im just not willing to pay for it really just want it for the back up camera and to not have to look at the rediculous screen we will see what happens this sight is a great resource and has helped me alot I really appreciate it guys , and I will share my experience when I figure out what the deal is thanks again .

BTW not to beat a dead horse , I tried the search function, I know the base model is impossible , but is it possible to add navi+ the camera after the fact on a touring ? is the touring pre wired for this from the factory ?

thanks

No, and no. Just get the NAV. You won't regret it. ;)

Car companies do everything to save every last penny. I am almost possitive that if you purchased all the parts for the navi from Acura at a later date, you would need to run new harnesses(take everything apart). Also, the navi computer generally is not located behind the display(on our TL it is in the trunk), so you may have to run a harness from the screen to the nav computer. You would also need to hook the BT module, camera(which also needs to be installed), radio, possibly climate control(for voice activation, dunno if the MDX has this), and buttons you would have to put on the steering wheel up to the system. We have an 05 TL with navi(best thing ever) and on the forum there some people have installed the factory nav. To do this they had to run the harnesses and all that other stuff.

If you really want navi go for it. I could understand if you can't afford it, but it would be worth it to wait a month or so and put a larger down payment on, so you wouldnt notice the nav in your monthly payments. My personel view is people should never "settle" for something, especially when it costs this much and is this big of an item. May as well wait a month longer and get your "dream" vehicle. And Navi is absolutly worth every penny(edit: DJ beat me to it)

Thought you already bought it. BTW, get the navi, it is so worth it, and comes with the DVD and back-up camera, which IMHO is great for parking. Also IMHO, the Zebra wood sucks, and it would have been nice to have brushed chrome in it's place. I do not mind the burlwood.

Thanks for the replies, I bought it but Im waiting for an insurance check to make the down payment, havent taken delivery yet still didnt have the final sit down with f&I yet , who seems like a real fine specimen already quoted me a payment 50 dollars higher than what the actual payment would be when I told him to use bankrate .com to find the payment he hesitated than conveniently left out the"." in .com so page cannot be displayed showed up, then I told him try it with the dot . then when we got the real payment he said his program has a default set for 48 mos. so thats why the payment was highthis is my 3rd new car so im used to this and pretty much expect it.

Im 99 % sure i wont go for the navi since its more a cosmetic thing for me , I literally will never use it ,unless the price is too good to be true I wont get it .

Anybody know about factory to dealer incentives scheduled for march? This forum on edmunds talks about them but I cant find a source or a link

To anyone buying an 06 MDX in near future.

I have a brother-in-law that works for an Acura dealer who is a manager and he gave me some very helpful inside information.
He said in around March on this year, Acura will be offering low APR and a $1500 to $2000 reabte on all their 2006 MDX. He told me to obviously wait. They are doing this in preparation of 2007's.
This means that everyone who talks to a should be getting anywhere between $2000 to $3000 under invoice.
Remember Acura gets a dealer holdback of 2.5% on invoice cost from Acura which equates to about $1000, to 1,200 back on their cars.
This means you can still buy an 2006 MDX for $2000 under cost and the dealership is sell making a good profit.
So if you wait until March of 2006 or so, you can get an under invoice deal of anywhere between $2,000 to $3,000 ($1,500 rebate plus dealer holdback of 2.5% of invoice is their actual cost plus some other misc. rebates).
I cannot reveal his name because he will get fired.
Happy Shopping!!

:) Wow that is awesome. We are in the market right now and that is great news. This forum has a great deal of information that has been helpful to me. Right now we are looking at 2006 Nighthawk black/ ebony interior, NAV and RES for a total out the door price of $42,811. This price also includes the chrome side steps and the fender flares.

You really ought to go with the Navi you won't be sorry. I bought my touring without the navi, that was a mistake. I guess I'll wait for the '07 and upgrade.
