I knew when shopping in Target on Valentine's Day there might be some bargains, but I had no idea I could even purchase somebody to give them to?!!!!

you are both in CA according to your signature, why different tax rates?
here in Ontario we pay 15% on most purchases
7% federal
8% provincial
another town or city within the same province will still pay the same tax rate.

I wouldn't mind paying double the tax if my healthcare was free like you folks. :4: |

Yeah... the rate is a little different from one county to another county in the same state, and in some cases different from city to city even when they're within the same county.
We're 7.75% here and a next door city (Roseville, in a different county) is less at 7.25 or 7.5%. |

Yup, prices are getting nasty. Some of my in-laws here already have a big problem. They can't afford to buy a house with a conventional loan unless each couple makes $100k/yr which they haven't yet. So, you guys are lucky there (and can have large houses!) |

Wages are lower here though. New construction has slowed for that reason.
Investors could still do well. |

health care isn't free. I have to pay like $108 monthly for family medical service. But for lower income or no income family, then it's free. :( |
