My clutch pedal on my 1999 honda crv will not allow me to engage in gear. Clutch prior was NOT slipping.....Can anyone, ANYONE direct me to how to adjust this clutch so I can get it in gear and bring it to my dealership ?
Tim are you out there today on Sunday ? I'm in a crunch! :3: |

Been awhile since I've been under the hood of a CR-V, but if it is a hydrualic clutch, the resevoir for the clutch master cylinder will be right next to the brake master cylinder resevoir. It will just be a much smaller capacity one.
If it's all gone, look under the dash behind the clutch pedal. The rod attached to the clutch pedal arm goes to the master cylinder. If that's leaking, then you've found what needs to be replaced. You could also have a leak at the slave cylinder, which on the front of the transmission.
Or, if there is no hydraulic system...ignore all that. You might have a broken cable for it to give out suddenly like that. |

Supertech:
I look under the dash by the pedal and indeed it is LEAKING grey think fluid.....is that the problem ? Will my dealership cover this under warranty ? I have an extended warranty when I bought it used. It was under Honda's used car program which excapes me just now.....Anyway should I expect this to be covered?
Thanks a bunch ! |

| It's actually DOT3 brake fluid in there. But it gets dirty and looks prety dark after a few years. I would think that the hydraulic clutch system is part of the powertrain, which is something that is covered by pretty much every extended warranty. So you're probably in luck. |
