I finally got a monster icruze installed in my wife's odyssey and found that I hate the navigation scheme (playlists).

So... I'm wondering what IPOD options I have for my 2005 MDX that allow FULL NAVIGATION of the IPOD.

I'm no longer worried about losing XM since I let my sub lapse...

So... who makes the BEST IPOD integration from a "navigation" perspective... in other words, being able to get at all of my music without using playlists.

Thanks!

Maybe this thread will help.

Replying to my own message...

Found two NEW options that have just came out:

Both allow you to KEEP XM even if you have a factory navigation system....

The first is not shipping yet:

Product Name: USASpec PA11-HON2 2003-Up Honda Aux. Input + Interface for iPod™
Product ID: PA11-HON2

Details are here: http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=879

NOTE: As of this posting the 2005 MDX was NOT listed on the compatible vehicles menu BUT when I called the store they said it had been tested, will work and the website hadn't been updated yet.

This piece GIVES YOU AN EXTRA AUX input in addition to keeping XM and integrating the IPOD... so you can add something else later like another satellite radio.

The 2nd piece also allows you to keep XM but doesn't give you the extra input and it is shipping now:

Product Name: Blitzsafe HON/M-LINK1V.2X 2003-06 Honda/Acura Interface for iPod + Factory XM
Product ID: HON/M-LINK1 V.2x

http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=908

Please note that both of these products allow you to keep the IPOD NAVIGATION on the ipod. They will NOT allow any radio navigation...

Lastly, PIE makes a solution that isn't quite as elegant:

PIE Part # HON03/PC-SON with the HON03-F/MM

This one uses the headphone jack and causes you to LOSE YOUR XM.

Hope this helps!

Following Up:

Someone has posted that the Blitzsafe part that I talked about won't work with the 2006 MDX:

If you look at the link in my message above, it does state that it only works with 2004 and 2005.

Just FYI....

Follow these links to use for the X3 and X3-HON03 from PIE

I installed it in my 05 MDX with Nav & XM (no RES) and it works flawlessly. Still lets you use XM, and gives you two more inputs beside your ipod. It's the best solution out there.
