Hi, I have a 2002 MDX but have purchase a 01 CL Navigation DVD Box and my trip computer doesnt work. Ive notice a green plug in the old box and I figured it is the trip computer controller.
But since the MDX without the navigation system have a working trip computer, what is it connected to and how can I come by one and will it work if I just connect it to the green plug.
Thanks in advance. Hope someone can help.
Also if I need to do some wiring, a diagram would be nice too.
And pictures of the location and what it looks like.

The trip computer is powered by the main engine control computer called the PCM. The computer uses the number of fuel pulses sent to the fuel injectors, and matches that data with the revolutions from the speed sensor in the transmission.
In my opinion, it will be utterly impossible for a novice to adapt the CL Nav to an MDX. It will be possible to purchase an aftermarket, on-dash unit like a Garmin. |

No, I have the a MDX with navigation and the CL box is installed already, but now my trip computer doesnt work anymore and im guessing its because the green plug under the seat is not in use beacuse the CL doesnt have a plug for it. Its just an empty slot with a peice of sticker covering it. So the green plug is not in use.
The navigation works fine, just now i dont have a trip computer.
So, i was wondering where are the ones without navigation is connected to so I can purchase one. |

| In the models without nav, the trip computer is in the display hardware. On the Navi models, the trip computer is an application that runs on the Navigation computer (tripcomp.exe in the windows ce code). So all of the communication circuits that run to the screen in the non navi models are rerouted to the DVD unit on the navi models. That is why the conversion is soo complicated. The production harnesses are completely different due to needing the circuits under the dash for one and under the seat for the other, not to mention all the related video, audio and communication wiring. |
