| Hello! I did a search and from what I can gather, the latest version of the navi for '02 is 2.3. am I correct about that? Or is there a 2.4 out there somewhere? |

v2.30 is the latest out there and was released in January 2006. You can find out what it contains as well as order it at www.acuranavi.com. It's the only place you can get a legitimate copy of the newest disc (other than its sister site: www.hondanavi.com). |

| Well, considering I haven't upgraded....EVER... I think trolling ebay for a copy of 2.2 should do me... provided I can find a legit copy... |

You should find plenty on eBay. Depending on where you live it should suffice just fine, and you'll see it's a *huge* improvement over what you have now, since your original disc only had major metropolitan areas fully mapped, and from version 2.11c and newer it now has over 95% of the country fully mapped (albeit some rural areas are considered "unverified" but still fully mapped). |

Just a word of advice for any of you that want to upgrade your navi but think $200 (cost plus shipping/tax) is too steep each year: would you do it if the upgrades were $100 or less?
I upgrade each year, and the new updates have never cost me more than $100. How? Simple--I sell my previous disc on eBay when I buy the upgrade. I do it right away when it first comes out. Most one-generation-old navi discs sell between $100-$125, which means if you spent $200 for the new one, you're only out a net $75-$100. This past January, I listed my v2.20 disc on eBay and it was bought for $165 (which is rediculously high, but nonetheless). Which means somebody paid $165 for a one-year old disc and I paid $35 for a brand new disc.
The moral of my post is--suck up the full cost just once for the latest upgrade and each subsequent year you can get the newest disc for about 50% off. And if you think no one is going to buy it, just check out the number of bids on the discs--there is a HUGE market for one- and two-generation old discs on eBay. |

I've got to admit you make a lot of sense. Actually after trolling ebay for the last couple of days, I can't find a single 2.2 (unless 2.02 is the same?) and if the price is over a hundred, then why not go for new? I may just bite the bullet and go for the 2.3 from Alpine....of course I'll have to wait until they get more in stock... the official acura website says they have no 2.3 in stoc at the moment :3: |

Those are definitely *NOT* the same version, unless the person made a typo. |
