| Hello, I just purchased a 2001 Acura MDX that does not have the Bose stereo - just the regular with the single disc cd-changer. The vehicle I had prior to this was an Audi A6 with a 12-speaker Bose stereo (loved it!). Anyway, the non-Bose I have in the MDX now really seems kind of blah when the radio is on (when the cd is on the sound is really pretty good). Can I replace the regular stereo with an Acura Bose? I do NOT want anything aftermarket. Would the speakers have to be replaced as well or do you think the main part would be enough? Someone mentioned an amplifier for the stereo I have now - I don't know what that is or if it should be a consideration...... Can anyone give me some ideas? etc? I would REALLY appreciate it. I really miss than 12-speaker Bose in my Audi!!! Thanks So Much!!! Denise |

How much of an investment are you willing to make? You can certainly replace the head unit, add amplifiers, all the speakers and the subwoofer with much better units.
Look in the Audio forum you just posted in for suggestions and sample installations.
I don't know why you wouldn't want aftermarket pieces since they're usually better and I'm assuming your warranty has expired anyway. Remember, you get what you pay for. |
