soooooo last weekend while we were shopping... robinsons-may in our area is going out of business :( and had 50% off their towels.... having read about zaino and knowing that i'm supposed to use 100% cotton towels.. we picked up a bunch of nice, white, 100% cotton towels.... since this is a going out of business sale... there are no returns and no exchanges...
sooooo my dilema.. when reading the tips at la zaino.... i see that we should have bought USA made towels... i checked the label this morning on our towels.. they are made in india...
do i need to scrap the ones i bought and buy USA made ones? or will the ones i bought that are made in india be ok?
thanx!!!!!!!
(they are a "house brand" and soft... we bought a couple in color to use in the house and i'm impressed with their softness.. i'm just concerned about them not being USA made cuz lazaino says that even though they say 100% cotton... they may not be! also... if you think i need to buy other towels... should i get the ones he sells on his site? they are already cut, desalvaged (ya.. not a word! lol! and stitched!lazaino towels AND should i get the soft DF concours ones? or the martex ones?)
so many questions! |

Use them to clean your windows or interior leather, but NO don't use them on the paint as they will make fine scratches in your clear coat over time and you will be doing double work with Zaino.....
You may want to check out this site for goodies:
www.autopia-carcare.com
It says it all and goes well with Zaino products.... |

i don't think our X will ever look like that.... we don't have enough weekend ours to do what would be needed for maintaining it! for us... weekends are for bike riding! (that's why we bought the X... to transport our bikes to beautiful bike rides!)
the la zaino distributor has contacted me since my original post.. and he seems to think that our towels will be ok.. they aren't cheap sam's club/costco towels.. they are premium.. that happen to be made in india... and made for robinson's may stores.... they are soft and fluffy... (i LOVE the two we bought for in the house! did i already say that?) i was going to order his towels from him.. had time to get them by tomorrow if i ordered them earlier today... but he convinced me i didn't need to spend more money.... soooooo hopefully he's right!
hmmmmm is that a sheepskin/lambwool wash mitt in your picture? isn't that a big NO NO according to zaino's site? |

| Not if it is washed and stored properly and use the fancy bucket that has a cool feature to prevent you from scraping up all the dirst at the botton of a regular bucket used to wash........:1: |

Zaino doesn't leave white spots as I still see them in this picture posted as well......I've tried BF, it doesn't stand up to Zaino.....I also have a PC buffer that beats the elbow !
Nice try Mr. Gary......

Zaino is a great product, I've never seen a dissatisfied customer.
On the towels however, I honestly don't think the 'made in America sticker' makes a difference on the quality of the cotten (don't get me wrong, I'm a firm believer in the American workforce....I'm part of it :D ).
With NAFTA, offshoring, and trade regulations....'made in America' doesn't necessarily 'mean made in america'....and it does not mean 100% US grown cotton :1:
If it feels like a quality towel, says 100% cotton, and doesn't shed....you've got a good enough towel to use. Other than that, your splitting hairs.

Egypt cotton towels are the best in my opinion. But any good cotton towel will do. I've been advised to avoid those cheap micro towels at Costco type outlets ! Basically when most consumers "dry" them in the dryer they actually "melt" the tiny fibers. Those are the ones that scratch your clear coat and show those lovely spider webs! They also collect particles naked to the eye, but not to your paint/clear coat.......:1:
Here is my beloved 2001 Acura CL Type S that had at least 40 plus coats of Zaino during my ownership. Long gone but not forgotten......The more layers of Zaino, the better it gets and easy to maintain ! :1: |

I have been using Egyptian towels with amazing results. If only I had been using "Made in the USA"! lol
I think it's a crock personally. You can feel if a towel is good or not, if it feels good (100% cotton), it will be good for the paint IMO. I don't let the outer trim hit the paint, just the "towel" portion.
I don't have a pic yet to prove my results...............as it's raining like a mutha right now. :( |

now YRAGAT.... i thougt fab was wrong to tell you to buy zaino in your blackfire wax post.... (which you called him on!) and now i'm telling you... i didn't ask about blackfire wax.... i was asking about toweld for ZAINO!!

the two of you need to stop your arguing...
obviously fab is a little (little?) overzealous about zaino... and you, it seems, are overzealout about blackfire wax...
i chose to buy zaino... read this forum and others.. and made an informed choice....
now shakes hands... kiss.. and make up! |

No one product is the best at everything - they're all compromises; the trick is choosing the product whose strengths best match the particular requirements for the job/client. A belief that one product is the best for all situations is a true sign of a noob.
And as has been stated many times before - surface preparation matters more than anything else. I'd rather read about and see pictures of your skills in producing a perfect swirl-free surface with an orbital buffer than these idiotic Zaino vs. whatever pissing matches. |

You guys are absolutely right. fabusix is happy with zaino & I'm happy with blackfire. Blackfire is made in U>S>A> and if zaino is also then were keeping people working. However I don't think many are familiar with blackfire (they are reactivity new to the market) sooo before making a pretty large investment on waxing products I urge you to checkout www.blackfireusa.com. that is all I'm going to say on this subject!
have a nice day

You have a lot of misconceptions about Blackfire. First of all, it's made in Germany, by Wacher-Chemie GmbH., not the US. Properautocare.com, which owns the Blackfire brand, just imports, bottles, and distributes it. Second, the Blackfire brand has been around a while. Their sealant has been reformulated in 2003 and in 2006, so they've probably been around five or more years at least. |

| I used Blackfire about 3-3.5 years ago and I liked it. When I got my X about 6 months ago I read about zaino here on the forum and tried it. At this time I don't know a better product. |
