| Since I purchased my MDX just over a month ago I have made several changes to the (Radio/XM/DISC) Sound Adjustments. I would like to get some idea of what other members are "tuned into" as far as the: Bass, Treble, Fader and Balance Adjustments are concerned. I have (for the time being) adjusted mine as follows: Bass-2, Treble-1, Fader-R1, Balance-L1. Somewere out there is the "best/better mix' for the MDX cabin space and configuration. :) |

| This is a very subjective thing, plus it depends on the type of music you're listening too. Just set it to what makes you happy.:4: |

this is for a '01 non-touring stock headunit and drivers so keep that in mind. It might not apply to you but if it may...
You're better off leaving the tone controls centered but if you still want to tweak it, they are very sensitive and a little bit here or there can ruin the sound. I keep the bass a tad bit "+" and the fader a tad bit "-". Maybe the treble a little "+".
Besides this the biggest thing that helped the sound was adding sound damping material on the back walls of the subwoofer cavity and filling it up with sound absorbing material. And isolating the speakers (and subwoofer!) from the door mounts by applying "vinyl weatherstriping tape" around the entire speaker flange that touches the door helped a lot. Next I am going to apply sound damping material in the doors and going by what it did to the subwoofer, I am sure that will have a very positive impact on the sound. Not to mention it will cut the road noise to a great extent too. |
