Blackfire is the private label of Classic Motoring Accessories (properautocare.com, classicmotoringaccessories.com). They have product manufactured to their specification and put it in their own bottles.

I'm using the following Blackfire products regularly:

Polyclay II
Clay Lubricant
Tire Gel
All Finish Paint Protection (the older formulation)
Deep Gloss Spray

I think that's about it. I'm going to assume you're interested in their sealant, "Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection". I haven't used it yet, but I am using a bottle of the older formulation on my SBP MDX (which I still have not seen in bright sunlight, thanks to the weather here).

Their products are good, but so are the products of a dozen or so other companies whose names I could rattle off. The key to final appearance is really in the prep, not in the product you choose to apply last. Do a crappy job of surface prep and Pinnacle Souveran will look crappy. Do a good job and most of the stuff you could buy at Target will look good. It's pointless to argue over the small differences in appearance between different LSPs if you've never clayed your vehicle, or never hit it with an orbital polisher and a gloss enhancing polish or glaze.

It's like asking what will look better on you, an Armani or a Zegna suit, when you're planning to wear them over a wife-beater. Get rid of the wife-beater first, then come back and ask your question.

Assuming equally well prepared paint, Blackfire will give you more depth than Zaino Z2 Pro, but less shine, and less durability. The new formulation is supposed to be even more carnauba-like in appearance.

The really hot product coming from Blackfire is their new "Scratch Resistant Clear Finishing Polish". This is basically Menzerna PO106FF polish with a little more lubricant. PO106FF has received many glowing reviews on detailcity.com, with many remarking that it surpasses FPII in final gloss. Considering how well Menzerna FPII has performed for myself and others, this is high praise indeed.

thanks for the info. I ordered the blackfire liquid shine complete kit .It doesnt include the scratch resistance polish. My X is an 05 and I dont know if it has the new super hard clear coat. do you use a buffer or wax by hand?Is there an advantage to either?I have a sears 9" random orbital buffer but never use it.

The sun came out for a few hours today so I was able to take a look at my MDX in the sun at lunch time. I haven't figured out how to take a good picture of the flake - I was too close I think, and my camera (Nikon DC70) was in idiot mode, so the aperture chosen didn't get everything in focus. As you might expect, the flake popped like crazy. You can see blues and pinks in the flake in this picture.

This wasn't quite the look I was trying to achieve - I definitely want to top the Blackfire with some Natty's and see how that looks. It may just be that the paint is not dark enough to achieve the look I'm after.

just got done giving theX the complete BLACKFIRE treatment and I am VERY happy with it!It looks better than the day I bought it.

You have a conventional clear coat, but the new Menzerna polishes developed for ceramic clear coats work equally well on all clear coat finishes.

I normally apply sealants and waxes by hand, and polishes and glazes by machine. Blackfire GEP (which I've never used) is more of a glaze than a polish IMHO. It contains gloss enhancers and fillers, and only does a minor amount of chemical paint cleaning. So I would apply it with a black Lake Country glazing pad.
