| I agree with whomever said there is fierce competition between automakers. As a bit of trivia one of the largest cases of industrial espionage in US history delt with one automaker attempting to steal Ford's formula for making its auto glass. This was at a time when Ford made all of the components for its vehicles. FYI. |

| You can guess if you want but my feeble brain can only retain so much junk...oops! I mean trivia. I can't remember who the culprit was but the story is true. |

Must've been a European maker. Maybe even VW. I remember the original VW Bug had a split rear window because they didn't know how to make curved glass and we did.
So my official guess is VW. But I'm too lazy to google it and verify. |
