Hey folks!

I just bought a new 2006 Aspen Pearl White with Navi and Ent. Upgraded for fender flares and the chrome side steps.

Now I need some tires, and the selection is a bit limited for the Acura MDS. The 255/55/18 is the best size for me, and I need a tire that is pretty good off road, as I fly fish all over the west, and am on dirt roads alot.

I have researched TireRack.com a good bit. I do notice that some tires work great on s given car, while they do very poorly on a different car.

So - I am looking to see if there are any tires to avoid for the MDX. Your thoughts would be appreciated!

It might depend on the rims you get.
I'm thinking of upgrading to 18" rims, but am concerned with the add'l unsprung weight. The stock wheel/tires are fairly light - apprx 55 lbs. If weight doesn't concern you, I think the Yokohama Geolander G052, Bridgestone Dueler Alenza or Goodyear Fortera HL might be the best choice for all season, light off-road applications. But you need to do your own research on this . . .

Geolanders suck IMO. At least they suck in tahoe snow.

Looks like I am going with the Michelin Pilot LTX. I will give them a week, and if I dont like them will switch to the Bridgestone Dueler Alenza.....

Thanks for the feedback - I did hear the Geolander suck in the snow, despite some good ratings at Tirerack.com...
