I recently purchased a 2002 MDX at an auction that did not come with an owners manuel. What is the preferred gasoline to put inside the vehicle?
thanks in advance |

| I thought you need a premium gas (octane 91) for all MDXs? |

Nope it is recommended, not required. |

| Isn't premium recommended on the gas cap? It may be the RL I'm thinking of. And who believes the gas cap anyways? :D |

| I do actually believe on what's said by the gas tank/cap. |

| You can run regular in the MDX with no harm. There is a slight loss of power under extreme conditions. The engine retards the timing if any pinging is sensed to protect it. Many members run regular and none have reported any problems. But nothing is stopping you from running premium if you feel more comfortable about it. Search this site for regular vs premium. |

Honda/Acura also recommends using only top tier gas on their website. So if you absolutley believe that you need to follow Acuras recommendations, then you should use premium gas only from top tier sources. |

I have an 01 with 98,000 miles and regular (87) works fine.
If I was towing anything I might use 89 octane. |
