I have just recently purchased a 2001, and about a 1-1/2 months after I bought it, it has started making this rattling noise from under the hood. It is driving me crazy. It sounds like a plastic bag under my hood, and it makes my RPM needle jump. I have taken it to the dealership 2 times now and they get my car to make the noise. But as SOON as I get back in the car and start driving it around, the noise starts right back up? Anyone have any suggestions?

| Make another appointment and ask one the techs to go for a ride with you so you can point out the noise to them. Good Luck. |

| Did that. The one tech that went for a test drive with me said that he thought it was my fuel system and he thought it would need to be flushed out. But that didn't help.... |

Grrr...what a joke. If that's what he thought, he should have told you to just run premium for a few tank fulls and trhow in some Techron.
How many miles are on the car? What fuel do you typically run? Have the valves ever been adjusted if it is near 100k? |

| My '01 has 83,000 miles. I have ran premium gas and done the fuel treatments. I'm not sure what to do next.. @ 100.00 a pop, plus an hour drive, I just don't feel like taking them my car again so they can say, "Oh, we don't hear anything". I thought it might have been the bracket that was mentioned in the other posting, but we tried that and it didn't work. I'm just wondering what else it could be? |

When you say bracket are you referring to the engine mounts? If not that has been a topic of discussion around here in the past and could be a possibility. |
