Sorry, no broadcast or cable TV in our house with a 7-, 5-, and 0.6-year-old. :D Been that way for nearly 3 years now. Before that we had cable TV for a brief one year period before deciding to cancel since we're hardly home and would rather spare our kids the potentially damaging effects of this much-abused medium.
It's very liberating. You should try it sometime. |

Without a doubt, Top Gear on BBC2 is my favorite show on TV. Those guys are just insane and the car reviews are just awesome. If you don't get BBC2 (I don't) but want to check it out, you can grab the torrents from any of the shows at www.finalgear.com.
As far as regular broadcast/cable TV goes, I would say 'My Name Is Earl' and 'The Office' on NBC (BBC 'Office' was pure genious) and 'Criminal Minds' on CBS. And of course, the Sopranos on HBO. |

24 on Fox is great,on CBS:Survivor,all of the CSis,W/O Trace
ABC:GreysAnatomy,BostonLegal,Lost
NBC:all of the law and Orders
F/X:RescueMe,Nip/Tuck |

By 1990 you could catch COPS, The Simpsons, Married With Children (1987), Get a Life (1990) and In Living Color (1990) all on the same channel.

| I'm surprised no one mentioned HBO!! Sopranos and Curb Your Enthusiasm is what I watch religiously. Of course, DVR allows me to time shift which is a blessing with young kids. |

I think that I've seen every episode of all these shows. Come to think of it, HBO is about all that I watch these days. HBO Rocks!
Is Cops on HBO? I'll admit to being a closet Cops watcher. My family thinks that I'm nuts. There's is something that I find satisfying about taking a peek into someone's life that is more screwed up than my own. |

I have to agree with you on that ! COPS is on Fox Saturdays at 8 ET, also on Court TV, F/X and Fox Reality Channel at various times. You might even have a local channel that runs it. The DVR should be able to find them all. |
