After reading up on some wax postings I was heading out to the store to buy and try Meguiar's Tech Wax but my new issue of Consumer Reports arrived before I left. And guess what they are rating in the July issue...Car Waxes.
I know they only rate so many brands but here is the interesting ratings in order:
Liquids
1. Black Magic Wet Shine
2. Turtle Wax Carnauba T-6
3. Eagle One Nanowax
4. 3M Perfect-It Show Car Liquid Wax
5. Dupont Teflon Ultra Wax
6. Meguiar's Gold Class Clear Coat Wax
7. Nu Finish NF-76
8. Zymol Cleaner Wax
9. Meguiar's NXT Next Generation Tech Wax
10. Turtle Wax Platinum Serius Ultra Gloss
Paste
1. Nu Finish NFP-80
2. Turtle Wax Platinum Ultra Gloss
3. P21S Concours-Look Carnauba Wax
4. Meguiar's NXT Next Generation Tech Wax Paste
Sprays
1. Eagle One Wax-as-U-Dry
2. Turtle Wax 1 Step Wax & Dry
3. Turtle Wax Platinum Series Ultra Gloss
The top 2 liquids were the CR Best Buys with the following recommendations for the rest:
Cars with weathered finish and need of deep cleaning - Black Magic and Turtle Wax liquid wax.
For easy shine and compatibility with plastics - Eagle One spray.
New vehicles & newer finish - Turtle Wax Spray. |

| Just get P21S (or S100 if you wanna save money), NXT and Eagle 1 Wax-as-you-dry, those are the only ones on the list that are worth getting, the rest sucks. |

I'd rather drink those products than let them touch the paint on any vehicle I own. |

Geez - where'd they get that list from????? Looks like all the brands you can get at Wal-mart or Pep Boys pitted against each other.
Here's a better review list:
